Plating Analysis Chemist

Remtec, Inc., a leading manufacturer of custom metalized ceramic substrates and packages is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Plating Analysis Chemist position in our electroplating facility in Norwood, MA.

This position is responsible for Analysis of plating baths and other special treatment tanks. A college degree in Chemistry is preferred with a minimum of three years related laboratory experience. Electroplating analysis lab experience is preferred.

Successful candidate should have the ability to work in a production oriented environment with little to moderate supervision, have a working knowledge of chemical analysis, standards, methods and practices, laboratory instruments and equipment including AA, XRF, and pH meter. Operate and maintain equipment in serviceable condition, maintain workspace in clean and safe fashion, be computer savvy including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and observe all laboratory safety procedures.

This position requires analysis of plating baths and other special treatment tanks to determine amount of critical components to replenish, trouble shoot plating problems, track that bath replenishment additions are made, maintain complete and accurate records, data book and other required documentation and perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

Thick Film Hybrid Application Engineer

Remtec, Inc. a leading manufacturer of custom PCTF® ceramic products is currently looking for an Application Engineer to complement the existing sales and application engineering organization in Norwood, MA.

This position requires a BS in engineering, preferably in the materials or mechanical discipline with a preference of two years of Technical Sales and Application Engineering experience, although entry level may be considered. The ideal candidate will be an innovative team oriented individual skilled in working with customers, process engineers and product managers on the development, planning and manufacturing of custom products.

Good knowledge of all aspects of thick film technology including materials, processes and applications. Exposure to thin film technology and electronic plating is preferred. Experience in ceramic industry, electronic components and packages is a definite plus. Working knowledge of quality systems, mechanical drawings and general manufacturing as well as well-developed oral, written and excellent communication time skills is required.

Ability to work with customers to understand their products, capture their requirements and guide them in implementing our technology. Ability to identify and select the most appropriate technology from the available options; perform detailed cost estimates and prepare quotations.

Process Development Engineer

Remtec, Inc., a growing manufacturer of metalized ceramic substrates and packages is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill a process development engineer position in thick films, surface finish and packaging. In this position you will be a part of the process, design and manufacturing engineering team.

The position is responsible for process/packaging development and sustaining engineering of Remtec products. Must have at least 5-10 years of experience in Manufacturing/Process Engineering as well as R&D activity in the area of Hybrid Microcircuits, Thick/Thin Film Processing, and Packaging Technology. Good working knowledge of materials processing in the following areas: screen printing, high temperature firing, photolithography and etching, plating, lapping/polishing, laser trimming and testing, dicing and assembly. Some experience with plating on ceramic or plating of ceramic electronic components is a definite plus. Hands on experience with MIL specs and methods is also desirable.

Should be a good a team player. Ability to perform experimental work environment and be self motivated. Successful candidate should have good understanding of related manufacturing equipment, good analytical skills, be a problem solver and quick learner. Ability to perform in a dynamic, rapidly growing and fast pace company with multifaceted responsibilities and multi-discipline approach. B. Sc. in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, electronic technology or material science is required. Good verbal and written communications skills.

Sales Manager

Dynamic, fast growing technology-based company in New England seeks a hands-on individual with a proven record in developing, directing, coordinating and executing domestic and international sales activity in the field of custom made electronic components, packages, metalized ceramics and hybrids.

Responsibilities will include communicating benefits of company products and services to both new and existing customers, providing forecasts and meeting sales objectives, maintaining efficient sales orders processing and customer transactions, supervising internal sales personnel and building sales reps organization, identifying and acquiring new customers, ensuring effective communication with customers and internally within the company, with approximately 25% travel.

This position is for a results orientated, highly motivated individual with at least 5 years of direct technical sales experience in a business to business environment, who has a hands-on management style with a demonstrated “team spirit”, and knowledge of electronic industry; a specific segment related to metalized ceramic substrates, packages, chip components is preferred. The candidate must be an excellent communicator (oral & written) with strong interpersonal and negotiating skills and computer literate. Must be able to work effectively without close supervision as well as to deal with a broad spectrum of technologies and a wide variety of applications. A degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing or related field strongly preferred.
